A massive thank you and congratulations to IMET2000s Kathy Green. All the hard work and sleepless nights have paid off. From sourcing, collecting, engraving and wrapping equipment. Filling in forms, phone calls and loading the container, miraculously Kathy has made it all come together. Today saw the 40ft container packed up and sent off to Uganda, bon voyage. Its a huge achievement which will change Herona Hospital beyond recognition.
Being witness to a mother arriving at Herona Hospital already dead from child birth is extremely difficult. The mother had been scanned and had been informed the baby had hydrocephalus a condition where the baby has water in the brain, she was informed she would need a c-section. After being told this she then chose visited a Traditional Birth Attendant (TBA), she was told her, that scans cannot see what is happening inside her, she choose to have the birth there with the TBA
Herona Hospital would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr Ali Arsiwala and the Help Foundation for yet another successful health camp. Giving free treatment to over 3000 people in two days is no mean feat. Patients received eye tests, tooth extractions, drugs, health education, laboratory tests, and surgeries where necessary and more, everything free. All surgeries will be carried out in Herona Hospitals new operating theatre on 5/6 Nov. The community are very happy.
