Operations at Herona Hospital

This patient with a hernia had been to a number of government facilities without help. The last place he went asked 1,200,000 Ugandan shillings for the operation. Garvin's team of 6 including a senior anaesthetist, a surgeon, theatre assistants and scrub nurses successfully operated. The patient was charged 200,000 ugx, a fraction of the cost of the other hospital. Herona hospital have the facilities, personnel and patients but are lacking equipment.
