First day of dental camp

Today was the first day of dental camp. 3 dental hygienists from the UK, Mandy. Carole and Carolyn along with Herona dentist Peter started their visits to local schools with their new progam to promote dental hygiene. They talked to 50 -60 children from Primary 5 and Primary 6. They begun with an introduction about teeth and went on to screen every child. After they were taught how to clean their teeth and everyone in the school received a toothbrush. They are visiting 2 schools a day Monday to Thursday culminating with dental camp at Herona with free tooth extraction. The aim is to spread the program to more children in the future. Herona Hospital would like to extend a big thank you to hygienists for bringing their program to Herona.
