Premature baby

Today we had a premature baby at Herona. Luckily we have the baby warming lamp and oxygen, there are no other hospitals or clinics in the area with those facilities. Sadly we do not have an incubator so the baby has had to be referred. The ambulance was only £10 (50,000 UGX) to Naggalama hospital but the parents didn't have that money. Luckily I was here to be able to help them with the ambulance but the ambulance is not equipped. Hasifa a Herona senior nurse has gone with the parents, all we can do is hope they get there in time. Herona Hospital is in need of a lot of equipment but an incubator is high priority.
